It is important that a young Anatolian grows up with the animals you want protected.
Luckily for me, CABUK has superior working ability genetically fixed in her DNA!
I have been able to place CABUK with all my animals without worry.
I now trust CABUK so completely that I leave her alone in various pastures while she guards!

Anatolians selected for generations of excellent working ability, like CABUK,
are a joy to raise because their understanding of correct working behavior has been
genetically instilled for generations!

However, it is still the owner's responsibility to create the correct working environment
for their pup and to nip improper behaviors in the bud!

If you obtain an Anatolian whose ancestors haven't been selected for superior working ability
don't be surprised or upset when your dog's behavior isn't what you expected!

CABUK is "eating grass" to help her fit into the herd and keep the goats calm.
CABUK is picking the grass (weeds) and chewing, just like the goats!

CABUK is always calm, respectful, and moves slowly if she is near goats!
Anatolian pups need to be selected for this excellent working behavior!
Of course, if the breeder hasn't been maintaining their Anatolians with goats/sheep,
how can they evaluate the working behavior of their Anatolians?

Notice the yellow and white goat is signaling her displeasure at CABUK's presence.
Does the goat imagine that CABUK is eating a particularly tasty bit of grass?
CABUK lowers her head even further and continues simulating her grass eating.
This stragegy works and the goat decides to continue eating.

Something you may already know - I have recently learned that pumpkin seeds are an excellent natural goat wormer!
