Overview of BIRINCI'S Yahsi's (Handsome's) life

Birinci's Yahsi (Handsome) at 17 months
BIRINCI'S Yahsi (Handsome) grew up in the pasture on my 50 acres Lucky Hit Ranch in the Texas Hill Country northwest of Leander, Texas, guarding my Nubian, Saanen, and Boer goats, llamas, and horses since he arrived here as a pup.

Handsome, a serious working Anatolian, has been tried and tested by the Texas heat, freezing rain, cranky and abusive old nannies, and persistent predators including roaming dog packs, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, wild hogs, and an occasional mountain lion. Handsome was one of five Anatolians who successfully protected a pasture from a mountain lion attack when he was only eight months old.

In that pasture, Handsome learned to peacefully coexist with older Anatolians, including my dominant male. This feat required potentially deadly combat to determine Handsome's position in the pack hierarchy plus lots of heavy duty play fighting.

Handsome's first two years of life have been a continuous series of physical and mental stresses that have tested both his physical soundness and his mental stability.

Three months before Handsome turned two, he was discovered by Kim Marcus. Handled by Kim, he became an undefeated AKC CHAMPION in only two show weekends. During Handsome's third show weekend, He began earning Breed Points as a Champion Special while being handled by a petite twelve year old!

Yahsi was #1 All Breed Anatolian in 2007 and 2006 and most of 2005. His son, Champion Inanna Bay Boudreau of Lucky Hit was #2 All Breed Anatolian (#1 Breed) and his daughter, Champion Ashley Manor DivaKiz Lucky Hit, was #2 Breed Female Anatolian in 2007. Then, in February, 2008, CHAMPION Birinci's Yahsi won BEST OF BREED at Westminister Dog Show and a few days later one of his grandsons went Best of Breed and Group 2!!!

Handsome's first litter was born October 30, 2004. The dam is Champion Maranda's Matilda Bay (Grace) of Inanna Kennels. This litter is exceptional and will be seen both in the ring and at the ranch! Puppy pictures can also be seen through the following link.

Yahsi's posture and demeanor at left is telling the goats, "I'm just walking through not causing any trouble so just ignore me." His behavior around the goats has been respectful and cautious... only excellent early goat interactions!

Handsome has GREAT hips! He proves it in many ways. His frequent leaps to the top of his six foot ledge in the barn to secure a great vantage point is just one of them!

CHAMPION Birinci's Yahsi (Handsome) winning Best of Winners in Atlanta Georgia Although Handsome was raised at Lucky Hit Ranch to be a working lifestock guardian, the first time Kim Marcus saw Handsome's picture she recognized his tremendous potential as a show dog. Two months after Kim removed Handsome from his guardian duties at the ranch, and in only two show weekends, Handsome (shown by Kim) earned his AKC CHAMPIONSHIP.

"The Open Dog, BIRINCI'S YAHSI, impressed me from the moment he entered the ring. Calm, dignified, observant--a picture of strength without lumber.

He maintained the correct silhouette both standing and in motion. Slightly longer than tall, with what I call the "lazy-s" topline (a very gentle curve downward behind the withers then arching slightly up over the loin area).

The correct and matching front and rear angles allowed him to move easily along. Coming and going confirmed what his side gait led me to anticipate--total soundness.

Good head properties--power without coarseness with beautifully made and placed ears and a well shaped eye of good color."
